These ceramic tiles are made from the recycled ceramic waste products salvaged from an individual artist's studio. All of the toxic waste, (Glaze and clay materials), from the ceramic studio is incorporated into this useful, nontoxic tile product.

Floor sweepings and clay sediment from the sinks are mixed together and press-molded to make these tiles.

The recycled clay, sand, and dirt are imperfectly mixed, and this gives the tiles their unique marbelized appearance.

Finally, the tiles are dipped into a tub of waste glaze materials salvaged from the studio sink.

The tiles are then fired in a kiln to Cone 10 (2300 degrees F.) to vitrify them, and render them sterile and permanently non-toxic.

No two tiles are exactly alike, but they are available in BROWN or BLUE glaze.

These tiles represent toxic waste recycling. The "NO SMOKING" tiles promote good health because they discourage cigarette smoking.
